Materials

At Funosa we produce both grey and nodular iron grades, according to standards EN-1561 and EN-1563, respectively.

Grey iron

Grey iron, is a type of cast iron that has a graphitic microstructure. It is named after the grey colour of the fracture it forms, which is due to the presence of graphite.

We produce the following iron grades

Designation EN-1561
Tensile Strength (Mpa)
EN-GJL-150 150
EN-GJL-200 200
EN-GJL-250 250
EN-GJL-300 300

Ductile Iron

Ductile Iron is a type of cast iron known for its impact and fatigue resistance, elongation, and wear resistance due to the spherical (round) graphite structures in the metal. Ductile Iron is also called ductile cast iron, spheroidal graphite cast iron, or nodular cast iron.

We produce the following iron grades

Designation EN-1563
